Ganderbal, May 7: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore on Thursday presided over the randomization process for allotment of tents and shops along Baltal Axis for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026, ensuring a fair and transparent allotment mechanism.
The randomization process was conducted in the presence of concerned officers, applicants and all stakeholders to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants.
Giving details, ADC informed that more than 5000 applications had been received. After due scrutiny, tents and shops were allotted to various applicants through draw of lots at various spots along the Baltal Axis including Baltal Base Camp, Domail, Railpathri, Brarimarg and Sangam.
During the interaction, participants also raised various issues and concerns being faced by them regarding facilities and operational arrangements.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the participants and assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed in a timely manner through coordinated efforts of the concerned departments.
He emphasized that the administration remains committed to facilitating smooth arrangements for pilgrims and stakeholders during the Yatra period. Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Informatics Officer, and other officers and officials attended the meeting.
